Scrape, Skim, Sand, Paint
The scraping is the quick part. What is underneath is bare board and taped joints finished to a standard that was never meant to be seen, so the ceiling then gets skimmed flat, usually in more than one pass, with drying time between coats.
Then it is sanded, primed, and painted. A flat white ceiling shows every imperfection, which is why the skimming stage decides how the finished room looks.
Matching Texture Instead
Not every ceiling needs removing. If you are repairing part of one and want to keep the rest, we match the surrounding texture so the repair disappears. Knockdown and orange peel finishes are also available where you want texture on a wall for a reason rather than by inheritance.
